Wildcard Petra Marcinko from Croatia has advanced to the quarter-finals of the Montreux Nestlé Open after defeating Slovak Veronika Erjavec 6-0, 6-1 on Wednesday.
Marcinko, who is ranked No 292, will now face the winner of the match between Dutch qualifier Anouk Koevermans and Croat Tara Wurth in the next round.
The 18-year-old Croat previously defeated American Louisa Chirico (6-1, 6-4) in the round before.
In the round of 32, Erjavec, ranked No 207, emerged victorious against German Ella Seidel, the No 8 seed, with a score of 6-1, 6-3.
