During the tournament, Bondar, ranked No 94, also defeated German qualifier Anna Petkovic (6-1, 6-3), Ukrainian Kateryna Baindl (7-6 (5), 6-3), German Eva Lys, the No 7 seed (6-0 ret.), and Serb Olga Danilovic (6-1, 3-6, 6-4).
Rus, ranked No 101, secured her spot in the final by defeating Suzan Lamens (6-1, 6-4), Croat Lea Boskovic (6-1, 6-1), Russian Polina Kudermetova (6-2, 6-4), and Romanian Elena-Gabriela Ruse (6-4, 6-3) in earlier rounds.
