Spanish player Nuria Parrizas Diaz, who is seeded 4th, defeated French lucky loser Carole Monnet with a score of 6-7 (4), 6-3, 6-2 to progress to the quarterfinals of the Montreux Nestlé Open on Wednesday.
Parrizas Diaz, ranked 100th, will now face the winner of the match between Liechtenstein’s lucky loser Kathinka von Deichmann and Switzerland’s Jil Teichmann.
In the previous round, the 33-year-old Spaniard won against French player Selena Janicijevic with a score of 6-0, 6-1.
Monnet, ranked 244th, emerged victorious against Belarusian wildcard Kristina Dmitruk with a score of 2-6, 6-3, 6-3 in the previous round.
