American Coco Gauff, seeded No. 4, secured a victory over No. 26 seed Katie Boulter with a score of 7-5, 6-2, advancing to the last 16 of the China Open at the National Tennis Center in Beijing on Sunday afternoon.
Gauff, currently ranked No. 6, is set to face the winner of the match between American Katie Volynets and Japanese Naomi Osaka in the next round.
In the previous round of the Beijing tournament, Gauff triumphed over Frenchwoman Clara Burel (7-5, 6-3), while Boulter, ranked No. 34, defeated American Taylor Townsend (6-4, 6-4).
