ATP Tennis Tournament: Mannarino Shocks Safiullin at Almaty Open 2024

Frenchman Adrian Mannarino, the No 8 seed, emerged victorious against Russian Roman Safiullin with a score of 5-7, 7-6 (4), 6-3 to advance to the second round of the Almaty Open at Almaty Arena on Tuesday evening. Mannarino, who is placed at No 56 in the rankings, is set to face the winner of the match between James Duckworth and Aleksandar Vukic in the next round of the tournament. The Almaty ATP 250 also witnessed several other first-round results at Almaty Arena, including matches between Timofey Skatov and Tomas Machac, Alexander Shevchenko and Mikhail Kukushkin, and Taro Daniel and Daniel Evans. Additionally, Gabriel Diallo, Borna Coric, Maximilian Marterer, and Justin Engel also secured victories in their respective matches.
