Suzan Lamens, a Dutch qualifier, advanced to the quarter-finals of the Osaka Open by defeating Italian Lucia Bronzetti 6-3, 6-4 at the Utsubo Tennis Center on Wednesday night.
Ranked No. 125, Lamens will now face the winner of the match between Romanian qualifier Ana Bogdan and No. 4 seed Marie Bouzkova.
Prior to her victory, Lamens also won against Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova, the No. 6 seed, with a score of 6-1, 6-2.
In the previous round of the Osaka tournament, Bronzetti, ranked No. 78, emerged victorious against Spaniard Cristina Bucsa with a score of 6-3, 6-4.
