Russian Daria Kasatkina, the No 5 seed, advanced to the quarterfinals of the Ningbo Open at the Yinzhou Tennis Center on Wednesday by defeating Katerina Siniakova 1-6, 6-3, 6-2.
Currently ranked No 11, Kasatkina will now face Kazakh Yulia Putintseva in the next round.
In the previous round, Siniakova, ranked No 42, beat Magda Linette (6-2, 6-4) while Kasatkina had a bye in the opening round.
