Wawrinka announces his return in 2025

The current ranking of three-time Grand Slam champion is No. 169 in the world. He recently participated in Basel, where he lost a close straight sets second round match against American Ben Shelton.

According to Swiss journalist Simon Graf, Wawrinka announced in Basel that he plans to continue playing for another season.

Starting the 2024 season within the top 50, the former world No. 3 dropped to as low as No. 236 last month. However, with his recent semi-final finish in Stockholm and second round showing in Basel, he is expected to climb to around the 150 mark in next week’s world rankings.
