Russian Karen Khachanov advanced to the semi-finals of the Vienna Open after defeating Italian Matteo Berrettini 6-1, 6-4 at the Wiener Stadthalle on Friday evening.
Currently ranked No 24, Khachanov will face the winner of the match between Jakub Mensik and the second-seeded Australian Alex De Minaur in the next round.
Khachanov had previously beaten Brazilian qualifier Thiago Seyboth Wild (6-2, 6-4) and American Brandon Nakashima (1-6, 6-3, 6-4) before his latest victory.
In earlier matches, Berrettini, ranked No 41, defeated Hungarian qualifier Marton Fucsovics (7-5, 6-4) and American Frances Tiafoe, the No 5 seed (6-3, 6-7 (6), 6-3).
