Roberto Carballes Baena from Spain defeated Kazakh qualifier Denis Yevseyev 2-6, 6-3, 6-2 to advance to the quarterfinals of the Nordea Open at the Båstads tennisstadion in Bastad on Wednesday.
Currently ranked No. 54, Carballes Baena will face the winner of the match between top seed Andrey Rublev from Russia and Thiago Agustin Tirante from Argentina.
In the previous round of the Swedish Open, the Spaniard emerged victorious against Russian Roman Safiullin, the No. 6 seed, with a score of 5-7, 7-6 (3), 6-3.
During the first round of the Swedish Open, Yevseyev, ranked No. 160, defeated Frenchman Alexandre Muller with a score of 7-5, 7-5.
