In the Palermo Open semi-final at A.S.D. Country Time Club, top seed Chinese player Qinwen Zheng defeated fourth seed French player Diane Parry 7-5, 6-4 to reach the final. Zheng, ranked No. 7, will face either Irina-Camelia Begu or second seed Karolina Muchova in the final. Prior to her victory, Zheng defeated Sara Errani, Petra Martic, and Jaqueline Cristian. Parry, ranked No. 58, advanced by beating Olivia Gadecki, Jil Teichmann, and Chloe Paquet. In the other semi-final, Irina-Camelia Begu will face Karolina Muchova. The Palermo WTA 250 tournament is being held on clay and has a prize money of USD 267,082.
