Shnaider, the top seed in Budapest, dominated the competition this week, only dropping one set in five matches.
The final match was back and forth, with both players giving up a total of twelve breaks (five on Shnaider’s serve and seven on Sasnovich’s serve).
In the end, it was Shnaider who emerged victorious, adding a clay-court title to her already impressive collection this year, which includes wins on grass and hard courts.
Prior to her victory, Shnaider, ranked No. 28, defeated Fanny Stollar (6-3, 3-6, 6-4), Ekaterina Makarova (6-3, 6-3), Ella Seidel (6-4, 6-2), and Eva Lys (6-3, 6-3).
Sasnovich, ranked No. 134, secured wins against Viktoriya Tomova (2-6, 6-2, 6-4), Maria Timofeeva (6-3, 6-4), Suzan Lamens (6-4, 2-6, 6-4), and Anna Karolina Schmiedlova (6-3, 3-6, 7-5) in earlier rounds of the Budapest tournament.
