Shnaider achieves a new career peak while top 10 rankings remain consistent

The latest WTA rankings released on Monday show no changes in the top 10 of women’s tennis, but there have been several career-highs achieved in other parts of the rankings.

One of the most notable improvements is from Russia’s Diana Shnaider, who emerged victorious at the WTA 250 event in Budapest. She has climbed five places from her previous career best of No. 28 to now occupy the 23rd spot in the world rankings.

Current WTA top 10 rankings as of July 22, 2024:

  2. Coco Gauff: 8,173 points
  3. Aryna Sabalenka: 7,061 points
  4. Elena Rybakina: 6,376 points
  5. Jasmine Paolini: 5,373 points
  6. Jessica Pegula: 4,665 points
  7. Qinwen Zheng: 4,025 points
  8. Maria Sakkari: 3,925 points
  9. Danielle Collins: 3,702 points
  10. Barbora Krejcikova: 3,573 points

Four Americans feature in the WTA top 15 rankings, with Madison Keys and Emma Navarro just outside the top 10 at 14th and 15th respectively.

Moyuka Uchijima continues her upward trajectory, reaching a career-high ranking of 66 this week. Harriet Dart from Britain, Jessica Bouzas Maneiro from Spain, and Erika Andreeva, the eldest of the Andreeva sisters, have also achieved career-high rankings.

On the other hand, Mayar Sherif has experienced a decline, dropping 20 spots to 87th in the world rankings. Ana Bogdan also suffered a significant drop, falling 28 places to 96th, while Aliaksandra Sasnovich made a remarkable leap of 30 spots to re-enter the top 100.
