Alex Michelsen, the 3rd seed, advanced to the semi-finals of the Hall of Fame Open after defeating Aleksandar Kovacevic with a score of 6-4, 6-4 at the International Tennis Hall of Fame & Museum in Newport on Thursday evening.
Ranked 61st, Michelsen will face the winner of the match between wildcard Reilly Opelka and Mackenzie McDonald in the next round.
In the previous round of the Newport tournament, Alex Michelsen also defeated Maxime Cressy with a score of 6-4, 6-4.
During the tournament, Kovacevic, ranked 91st, won against Harold Mayot with a score of 7-6 (1), 6-4 and also beat Arthur Rinderknech, the 7th seed, with a score of 6-3, 3-6, 7-5.
