Canadian Gabriel Diallo emerged victorious against Croat Borna Coric with a score of 7-6 (1), 6-4, securing his spot in the quarterfinals of the Almaty Open at Almaty Arena on Wednesday evening.
Diallo, currently ranked No. 118, is set to face the winner of the match between German Maximilian Marterer and Chilean Alejandro Tabilo, who is the second seed.
Prior to this match, Diallo defeated Australian Christopher O’Connell with a score of 7-6 (5), 6-2 in the previous round of the tournament.
In the same round, Coric, ranked No. 96, triumphed over Hungarian Fabian Marozsan, the No. 7 seed, with a score of 6-4, 7-6 (4).
