Bears WR Allen Robinson Gets Real About Justin Fields’ Slow Start, and It Should Have Fans Furious

Alabama is the #1 team in college football. They crushed Kent State, 63-14. Justin Fields, who was once considered to be one of the best quarterbacks in high school football, has had a tough time adjusting to life at Alabama. He’s thrown four interceptions so far this season and his offense only scored two field goals against Kent State on Saturday

The “allen robinson 40 time” is a football player who has been with the bears for four seasons. He joined the team in 2014, and he has seen his fair share of success. However, this season has been different for him, as he has only caught nine passes for 145 yards. Robinson believes that it’s because Justin Fields’ slow start to the season.

Justin Fields has started five games for the Chicago Bears this season, and none of them have gone as planned. Fields has the lowest passer rating (61.8) and quarterback rating (61.8) among qualifying starting quarterbacks (16.7).

Because Fields is expected to be the Bears’ franchise quarterback in the future, blame is being thrown about liberally. Fields has been sacked a league-high 22 times by Chicago’s shaky offensive line, while head coach Matt Nagy continues to call unimaginative plays.

With everyone in Chicago trying to figure out why Fields is playing like Mitchell Trubisky’s younger brother, Bears WR Allen Robinson decided to weigh in. Robinson is expected to be the Bears’ top wide receiver, but his rapport with Fields is visibly strained. His viewpoint on the subject is crucial.

“That’s something we’re still working on,” Robinson added, “continue to earn repetitions in practice.” “We didn’t take a lot of snaps in training camp.” We’re simply trying to expand on a lot of these things.”

Fields spent training camp as the Bears’ backup quarterback, which explains Robinson’s dissatisfaction.

Fields should have gotten repetitions with the starters, according to Matt Nagy.

The majority of Bears supporters were disappointed Fields didn’t have an opportunity to work with the starters over the summer. Their fears are now proving to be justified.

There’s nothing wrong with the Bears taking their time with Fields and gradually acclimating him to an NFL offense. They should, however, have anticipated the likelihood of him starting games this season.

Fields may have done significantly better in his first few starts in the NFL if he had had more time in the summer to develop chemistry with the starters, as Robinson says.

It’s difficult to believe that first-team reps would have harmed his growth in any way. Anything is preferable than the way Fields is now performing.

What does the future hold for the Bears?

The Bears are 3-4 and swiftly falling out of the NFC North playoff picture. The Green Bay Packers are once again cruising through the division, while the Minnesota Vikings look to be improving. If Chicago wants to look back on 2021 as a successful season, they need to put more emphasis on boosting Fields’ confidence than than reaching the playoffs.

Fields seems to be a shadow of his former self right now. His three interceptions in Week 7 are the most recent illustration of his inability to acclimatize to the NFL environment. Nagy won’t be able to go back in time and incorporate his rookie quarterback into the starting lineup. He may, though, begin changing the play calls to make things simpler.

Fields just needs a few of good games to finish his rookie season, and the Bears should be confident in his potential to rebound in 2022.

Regardless, Robinson is completely accurate in his previous comments. The Bears made a mistake by waiting until the middle of the season to start Fields.
