Italian Matteo Berrettini advanced to the final of the Generali Open by defeating German Yannick Hanfmann 6-4, 6-4 at Kitzbühel Tennis Club in Kitzbuhel on Friday. Berrettini, ranked 50th, will now face the winner of the match between Frenchman Hugo Gaston and Argentinian Facundo Diaz Acosta.
Earlier in the tournament, Berrettini defeated Russian Pavel Kotov, Chilean Alejandro Tabilo, and American wildcard Nicolas Moreno De Alboran. On the other hand, Hanfmann, ranked 116th, triumphed over Spaniard Jaume Munar, Brazilian Gustavo Heide, and Brazilian Thiago Seyboth Wild in previous rounds.
In the Kitzbuhel ATP 250, the other semi-final match will be between Hugo Gaston and Facundo Diaz Acosta at Kitzbühel Tennis Club on clay court with a prize money of EUR 579,320.
