Italian Matteo Berrettini, the No 6 seed, emerged victorious in the Swiss Open tournament at the Roy Emerson Arena in Gstaad by defeating French qualifier Quentin Halys 6-3, 6-1 on Sunday.
Throughout the tournament, Berrettini, ranked No 82, defeated notable players such as Argentinian Pedro Cachin, Colombian Daniel Elahi Galan, Canadian Felix Auger-Aliassime, and Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas.
On the other hand, Halys, ranked No 192, triumphed over Richard Gasquet, Slovak Lukas Klein, Brazilian qualifier Gustavo Heide, and German Jan-Lennard Struff in earlier rounds of the tournament.
