Hungarian Anna Bondar, seeded No 4, secured her spot in the final of the Hamburg European Open after a hard-fought victory over Serb Olga Danilovic with a score of 6-1, 3-6, 6-4.
Bondar, currently ranked 94th, will take on the winner of the match between Dutch player Arantxa Rus, the No 3 seed, and Romanian Elena-Gabriela Ruse in the next round.
In the earlier rounds, the Hungarian defeated German qualifier Anna Petkovic (6-1, 6-3), Ukrainian Kateryna Baindl (7-6 (5), 6-3), and German Eva Lys, the 7th seed (6-0 ret.).
Danilovic, ranked 121st, emerged victorious against Slovak Rebecca Sramkova, the 6th seed (6-3, 6-1), German Noma Noha Akugue (3-6, 6-2, 7-6 (6)), and Egyptian Mayar Sherif, the top seed (3-6, 6-2, 6-1) in earlier matches of the tournament.
