If you’re like me, you’ve probably never heard of Splitgate. But for those of you who have, or who have looked it up after hearing about it on the internet, you know that Splitgate is a game where you try to make it through a level, taking out as many opposing players as possible, while also limiting the number of your own squishies. The goal is to get more points than one player, and it’s a lot of fun. Word is that Splitgate is coming to the Galaxy S21, and I’m really excited.

The fast-paced, split-screen shooter Splitgate has attracted a lot of attention since its release as an early access title in February. The game pits two players against each other in a two-versus-two deathmatch. Some of the other cool features include the ability to create your own custom arenas, and the ability to customize your ship with a huge variety of parts and decals.

Splitgate is a multiplayer first person shooter for Android that pits two teams of two players against each other in a battle to the death. The game is inspired by the multiplayer online battle arena genre, also known as “MOBA”, and if it sounds like a little bit of a mouthful, that’s because it is. But what makes Splitgate really stand out is its unique gameplay. Essentially, you take on the role of one of two characters who compete in a number of battles against a number of other players. Your character must complete a number of objectives, all while defending his or her own base from the opposing team.

Splitgate’s basic multiplayer modes are all 4v4 battles with eight players on two sides battling it out in the arena. But what if you want to compete against someone in a 1v1 match? Is that possible in Splitgate?

Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes Splitgate, like other multiplayer-focused shooters with features like Gun Game, allows for 1v1 matches. The regular match lineup, however, does not include a two-player option. To do so, you’ll need to make a bespoke online match (there is, after all, no split-screen couch co-op here).

Select “Play” from the main screen to create a custom online match. Select “Custom Match” from the drop-down menu. Select “Create.” After that, you’ll need to come up with a server name, which may be anything.

If you don’t want other players to discover your game, select the “Private Server” option underneath the server name. Create a password and provide it to the person with whom you wish to play multiplayer. If you don’t have any friends to invite, uncheck this box and other players will be able to discover and join your server.

After that, choose your area. Set “Max Players” to 2 below that. Select “Create Game” after you’re finished, and Splitgate will return to the main menu before establishing a lobby.

You may modify the map, match type, score limit, match duration, respawn time, main and secondary weapons, bot difficulty, modifiers, and more in the lobby by selecting “Match Options.” You may also invite pals from your friends list as well as gamers you’ve just met.

That’s about all you need to know about playing a 1v1 match in Splitgate. Check out our other Splitgate tips articles for more information on the arena shooter that combines Halo and Portal.
