The Carolina Panthers are in New Orleans for an important game against the Saints. The Panthers have had a rough season, but Cam Newton and his Panthers still have a shot at the playoffs. The Panthers have not been the same team since Newton was injured in Week 3, but Thursday night will be a huge opportunity for Carolina to win. The Panthers will need to get a lot of pressure on Drew Brees. The Panthers have a great defensive line, led by Kawann Short and Kony Ealy.
Cam Newton, the quarterback for the Carolina Panthers, has a lot going for him. From his party-hard ways to his ability to make plays virtually every game, he’s living out the dreams of many NFL fans. But, there is one thing that has started to irk him. That would be the amount of sacks he’s been getting since he entered the league. Newton is now on pace to have his fewest sacks since he was a rookie. That’s a problem for him. It’s a problem for the Panthers, too, because Newton is the face of the franchise.
Lee Smith of ESPN’s “ESPN: The Magazine” wrote, “”The 2013 rookie class is not for the faint of heart. Injuries have already struck. Cam Newton, for one, has been limited because of a sore shoulder. Ezekiel Elliott, a first-round talent, is in a back brace. An offense-heavy class has been strengthened by the addition of a couple of defensive ends in the first round (Olivier Vernon, Dee Ford) and in the second round (Young). Cam Newton is a bright spot for the Panthers. He showed in his first year as the starter that he has it all: the arm, the mobility, the leadership and the confidence. No other rookie has more sacks in his first two NFL seasons.”. Read more about best de in nfl and let us know what you think.
Chase Young is one of the NFL’s best young defensive ends, and he didn’t waste any time reminding everyone of that during the Washington Football Team’s first preseason game.
Young came screaming off the left side of the line against the New England Patriots and severely sacked Cam Newton. The ball came loose as the Patriots’ starting quarterback banged his shoulder onto the grass.
During the NFL preseason, Chase Young wasted no time in demonstrating his tremendous potential.
While it is still the preseason, Young’s first-quarter sack demonstrated why NFL pundits are so high on his ability to attack the passer.
Young demonstrated his speed, strength, explosiveness, and ability to finish plays by forcing a turnover in just one rep. Young had no chance against the Patriots’ left tackle on the edge, which is saying a lot considering he’s only 22 years old.
Newton took a lot of punishing hits as the Carolina Panthers’ starting quarterback, but this one against Young seemed to shock him. Newton is a big guy, so it’s unusual to see him get squashed so quickly.
During his debut season, Chase Young established himself as a force to be reckoned with.

If this sounds familiar, it’s because it should. Young, the second overall choice in the 2020 NFL Draft, established himself as one of the best defensive ends in the league during his rookie season.
In 15 games, Young has 7.5 sacks, 10 tackles for a loss, and 12 quarterback hits. Young’s presence on the defensive line is one of the main reasons Washington won the NFC East and qualified for the playoffs despite the odds.
Leading up to Young’s debut season, NFL observers predicted that he would have an immediate influence on the Football Team. However, the season he ended up having well beyond most of his expectations. Young was selected Defensive Rookie of the Year and a Pro Bowler in addition to helping Washington to a division title.
Both the Football Team and the Patriots are hoping to make the playoffs in 2021.
Washington’s objective is straightforward. As division winners, repeat the process.
Their defense, directed by Ron Rivera, is outstanding and will only become better as Young develops into a great edge rusher. Expect a great sophomore season from the Football Team’s starting edge rusher if his preseason performance versus Newton is any hint of what’s to come.
It’s also worth noting that Washington made significant progress on offensively. Ryan Fitzpatrick, the quarterback, and Curtis Samuel, the wide receiver, were both signed as free agents.
The Patriots’ objective is a little more hazy.
In an ideal scenario, Newton reclaims his MVP form and leads New England to the promised land, while first-round rookie Mac Jones watches and learns on the sidelines. Jones is forced into action in a less-than-ideal world because Newton is struggling.
Whatever the case may be, one thing is certain. This year, Young is going to be a lot of fun to watch. This is your wake-up call if you forgot how good this child is.
