Chinese Juncheng Shang emerged victorious in the Chengdu Open final, defeating top seed Italian Lorenzo Musetti 7-6 (4), 6-1 at the Sichuan International Tennis Center on Tuesday. Shang, ranked No 55, secured his win after defeating several notable opponents, including Japanese wildcard Kei Nishikori, Russian Roman Safiullin, Kazakh Alexander Bublik, and German Yannick Hanfmann. Musetti, ranked No 19, also showcased his skills by defeating Australian Christopher O’Connell, Frenchman Adrian Mannarino, and Russian qualifier Alibek Kachmazov in previous rounds of the tournament.
