Cowboys Suffer Brutal Injury Blow That Derails Dak Prescott’s Chances of Leading Dallas to the Playoffs

Dallas Cowboys quarterback Dak Prescott was hit in the knee by Seattle Seahawks linebacker Bobby Wagner, sidelining him for the rest of the game. The injury is a major blow to his chances of leading Dallas to the playoffs.

The dak prescott height is a football player who was injured in the Cowboys’ game against the Redskins. This injury will most likely end his season and ruin Dallas’s chances of making it to the playoffs.

Dak Prescott had a lot of expectation on him heading into the 2021 season to lead the Dallas Cowboys to a Super Bowl victory. Jerry Jones didn’t sign him to a $160 million contract deal simply so he could compete for division championships.

Despite looking fantastic against the defending Super Bowl winners, the great quarterback was unable to defeat the Tom Brady-led Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Cowboys, who are already 0-1, can’t afford to lose ground in the standings by getting off to a poor start.

Prescott’s hopes of leading Dallas to the playoffs have been thwarted by a devastating injury.

For a long period, the Cowboys will be without their most accomplished defensive player.

Following a season in which several of their key players were injured, the Cowboys are having trouble keeping healthy once again. In reality, Dallas was dealt a major personnel setback in only a few quarters. With talented wideout Michael Gallup out for three to five weeks with a calf injury, Prescott will have to depend even more on Amari Cooper and CeeDee Lamb.

Gallup’s early-season loss, on the other hand, pales in comparison to what occurred on Wednesday.

DeMarcus Lawrence fractured his foot in practice, according to ESPN, and will be out for six to eight weeks.

“Obviously, we’re losing DeMarcus Cousins, who is a key player for us. “I felt he got off to a good start in Tampa,” McCarthy remarked on Thursday. “You don’t want to see any of your men go hurt, but it does provide chances for the other players. The game strategy will determine how we will distribute it. Today, tomorrow, and Saturday, we’ll work on it. We’ll go into it more specifically when we play the game.”

The Cowboys’ poor defense seems even less capable of slowing down rival offenses with Lawrence sidelined for a prolonged length of time. Despite possessing a great quarterback, they seem destined to miss the playoffs based on their schedule and existing roster.

Because of Lawrence’s injury, Prescott seems doomed to watch the playoffs from home, as good as he was against the Buccaneers.

What is the reason behind this?

First and foremost, you must consider the time issue.

This week, the Cowboys must travel to Los Angeles to face a Chargers club that has blue-chip talent on both sides of the ball. Justin Herbert, a second-year quarterback, threw for 337 yards in a 20-16 victory against the Washington Football Team, whom many believe to have a top-10 defense. Hebert should demolish a Cowboys unit that couldn’t handle the Buccaneers in Week 1 if he isn’t pressed.

Prescott and his teammates won’t be able to play in January if they depart LA without a victory. In 2020, all 11 clubs who started the season 0-2 were eliminated from the playoffs. Needless to say, a 0-2 start would make qualifying for the playoffs very tough for Dallas.

Furthermore, with Lawrence sidelined until November, the Cowboys may have greater difficulties facing talented offenses. Jalen Hurts had a great game against the Atlanta Falcons; could he be an issue for the Eagles’ division opponent in Week 3?

Lawrence’s absence may be highlighted in games like the Carolina Panthers, who have dynamic playmakers like Christian McCaffrey, D.J. Moore, and Robby Anderson. In Week 6, the New England Patriots have a strong offensive line that may cause problems for a weak Dallas defensive line.

If the Cowboys are exposed in the coming weeks and lose a couple more games, they will have a difficult time catching up in the rankings. Prescott has a chance to earn Comeback Player of the Year, but his chances of reaching the playoffs seem to be slim.

Without DLaw and Randy Gregory, the Cowboys will be without proven pass rushers on Sunday. Bradley Anae, Dorrance Armstrong, Tarell Basham, Chauncey Golston, and Azur Kamara, the other five DEs on the roster, have combined for 10 sacks. 7.5 of them are in Basham.

Will the Cowboys make a trade to fill their newest roster void now that their high-paid pass rusher is gone for almost half the season?

It would make sense for Jerry Jones to look at bringing in a defensive end via free agency or trade. After all, getting after the quarterback is crucial, and Dallas just does not have enough competent guys on the roster to do so.

Who could Jones consider pursuing?

The most well-known name is still Olivier Vernon. Since entering the NFL as a third-round selection by the Miami Dolphins in 2012, the 30-year-old has racked up 63.5 sacks. Vernon had nine sacks and 16 quarterback hits last season with the Cleveland Browns, so he has a proven track record.

Trent Murphy is yet to find a new team in the NFL. He doesn’t have quite the same potential, but the 30-year-old used to cause issues for the Cowboys when he was in Washington. Murphy, who spent the previous three seasons with the Buffalo Bills, would benefit from a return to the NFC East.

What about a candidate for a trade?

With the Raiders, Clelin Ferrell hasn’t even come close to meeting expectations. The 6-foot-4, 265-pound edge rusher was drafted fourth overall in 2020 and has a nearly similar frame to Lawrence. He clearly showed enough promise in college to be a top-five selection. A change of scenery may be the best option for all parties, and the Cowboys’ ailing defensive line might use some help.

Even if they do send in another corpse or two, it’s unlikely to make a difference.

Nobody can replace DeMarcus Lawrence’s contributions in terms of output and leadership. And no matter how hard Dak Prescott tries, he won’t be able to compensate for Dallas’ defense’s glaring flaws.
