Daly will be working with Gauff alongside her long-time coach, Jean-Christophe Faurel, focusing on improving her service action. Gauff has already seen significant improvements in just a short amount of time.
“There are subtle adjustments that I’ve been working on for a week now, which have already made a difference,” Gauff said. “The main focus right now is on improving my serve, as it is crucial for my overall game.”
Gauff’s serve has been a challenge this year, with a noticeable number of double faults in her recent matches, such as her loss to Emma Navarro at the US Open.
Excitement for Coaching Change
Although Gauff and Gilbert parted ways on good terms, Gauff is looking forward to the change in coaching and the opportunity to refresh her game.
“I am really excited about the new direction and the potential for growth in my game,” Gauff expressed. “I believe this change will set me up for a better season next year.”
Gauff is positive about the coaching transition and is eager to see how it will benefit her game in the upcoming matches.
“I am optimistic and looking forward to seeing the improvement in other areas of my game as well,” Gauff added. “I feel confident about the new coaching setup.”
Despite the upcoming match against Clara Burel in Beijing, Gauff seems relaxed and focused on finishing the season strong.
“I have been enjoying my time in Beijing, exploring the city and feeling refreshed after some time off,” Gauff shared. “I am not putting too much pressure on myself for the Finals, as this season is about adding new elements to my game and adjusting to the coaching changes.”
“I am open to the possibility of making the Finals, but I am also prepared for any outcome,” Gauff concluded. “Making the final eight would be a great achievement, but ultimately, I am focused on the journey and the process of improvement.”
