This weekend, three-time NBA All-Star Jayson Tatum felt like a child again. Despite being chosen an All-Star for the third consecutive season, the fifth-year Boston Celtics forward felt out of place.

On the league’s 75th anniversary, Tatum found himself interacting with several previous NBA greats as the league celebrated its best 75 players. Former Celtics stars Robert Parish, Kevin McHale, Paul Pierce, and Kevin Garnett were among those named. Tatum came out and said that he felt a bit out of place among the celebrities.

After a difficult start, Jayson Tatum and the Celtics have found their stride.

The Celtics had seemed to be turning things around after an abysmal 50-game start to the season. Until the All-Star Break, Boston was on a nine-game winning run before losing at home to the Detroit Pistons. Despite their poor play, the Celtics are now in sixth place in the Eastern Conference with a 34-26 record.

The Celtics, who have two rising talents in Tatum and Jaylen Brown, didn’t get off to a good start. The Celtics never had more than three consecutive victories in January. Until they reached their nine-game winning run, they were never more than two games above.500.

Tatum struggled with his outside shooting, missing 20 three-pointers in a row at one point during a four-game period. Tatum and Brown were publically chastised by Marcus Smart for failing to pass the ball. Ime Udoka, the team’s first-year coach, questioned the team’s effort on many times.

On Saturday, January 23, Boston got off to a fast start with a comfortable victory against the Washington Wizards on the road. Then they defeated the Sacramento Kings by 53 points at home. The Celtics scored nine consecutive points after losing to the Atlanta Hawks, with Tatum leading the charge.

At the All-Star Game, Jayson Tatum felt out of place.

When it comes to All-Star Weekend, Tatum should be accustomed to playing alongside the greatest in the league. He’s dressed up with the stars for the third consecutive season, but he’s a touch overwhelmed this time.

Before the game, Tatum was requested to take part in a group shot with some of the Celtics’ greatest players, including Kevin Garnett, his all-time favorite Boston player. He rushed into the picture with Garnett, Pierce, Parish, and McHale, admitting that he felt out of place.

“With everything that they’ve achieved and what they represent to the game, and particularly to the Celtics,” Tatum told reporters, “I sort of felt like I didn’t even belong in that picture.”

“It was my first time meeting Parish, and I was familiar with the other guys, but being in that photo with them was wonderful.” That was a picture I’ll save and a memory I’ll never forget.”

Tatum is well on his way to being a long-term Celtics star, despite the fact that he may feel out of place at the present.

Tatum is becoming into a well-rounded player.

Tatum seems to be settling pretty well in Boston. Despite the fact that he is just 23, he is on his sixth season in the league. It took him some time to mature and adjust to life in the NBA.

According to Boston.com, Tatum claimed, “I didn’t lift, I didn’t get massages, I didn’t worry about what I ate.” “I was 19, and I was in a new city with a new team, I had just given birth to a child, and I had a lot on my plate.”

“However, I believe it was towards the beginning of my third year that I began to adjust my eating habits, upkeep, massages, treatments, and lifting more. That’s when I began doing it in the beginning of my third year.”

That was his first year as a member of the All-Star team. The Celtics are in a terrific position now that Tatum has committed to the team for the foreseeable future.
