ITIA tribunal rules in favor of sinner, clearing them of fault or negligence in unusual case

After cutting his finger on a scalpel, Naldi bandaged it, but later used Trofodermin spray on the wound without realizing it contained clostebol. The spray, purchased by Sinner’s fitness coach, did not come in its original box. Naldi did not use gloves while giving Sinner massages and treating his feet during the tournament.

The tribunal found Sinner not at fault or negligent and he will not face any ineligibility period. However, his results, prize money, and ranking points from the ATP Masters 1000 event at Indian Wells have been erased.

Sinner expressed his commitment to compliance with the ITIA’s anti-doping program in a statement on social media, saying he will move past this challenging period with the support of his meticulous team.
