The Philadelphia 76ers have been in the playoffs since Joel Embiid was drafted and they are having a tremendous season. The team is up 3-0 on their opponent, and yet everyone knows how good of a player that James Harden has become.
The “nba standings” is a blog that discusses the current nba standings. The Philadelphia 76ers are currently ranked number one in the league.
With his stunning performance this year, Joel Embiid has left a lot of people awestruck. This season, the Philadelphia 76ers big man has been the NBA’s most dominating scorer, and he has a decent opportunity to earn his first MVP title.
But it isn’t only Embiid’s opponents and supporters who have been blown away by his performance this season. Even his teammates, particularly Tyrese Maxey, are at a loss for words as they watch Embiid dominate night after night.
The incredible season of Joel Embiid

If you’ve seen even one 76ers game this season, chances are you’ve seen Embiid put on a show. This season, the All-Star center leads the NBA in scoring at 30.4 points per game, and he also has the most 40-point outings (12).
The most amazing aspect of Embiid’s offensive explosion this season is that he’s facing more double-teams than he’s ever faced before. The Sixers didn’t have the resources to relieve burden off their center on the offensive end without Ben Simmons on the floor for most of the season. Nonetheless, it’s been entertaining to see him consistently overcome two defenders.
With just a few games left on the schedule, Embiid is right in the heart of the MVP competition. In the end, the prize will be decided between Embiid, Nikola Jokic, and Giannis Antetokounmpo, but the 76ers star has a strong case.
Tyrese Maxey is still flabbergasted due to Embiid’s domination.

All season long, Embiid has been a joy to watch. So much so that his teammates are still in awe of what he does every night on the court.
Tyrese Maxey told reporters following Embiid’s 45-point effort against the Indiana Pacers this week, “I have no clue what to say.” “He’s simply a great basketball player, dude.” My parents and dad came to the game we played Charlotte, and I was chatting to my dad about it the other day. He’s simply very, extremely excellent at basketball,” he says.
Tyrese, that’s a beautiful way of putting things.
“I mean, I can’t compare what he does on the basketball floor to anybody,” he concluded. “He’s dribbling, shooting mid-range, shooting threes, and hitting free throws.” They have to foul him when he ducks in because he’s so dominating down there, and it’s incredible to see. I constantly tell myself that I’m not going to take it for granted because what we’re witnessing is incredible.”
Maxey has been Embiid’s teammate for two seasons, so the fact that he is still dumbfounded when watching him play says a lot.
Is an MVP on the way?

It’s difficult to argue against any of the top three MVP candidates this season. Jokic has dominated advanced analytics, Antetokounmpo has been outstanding on both sides of the court, but Embiid’s ability to lead the Sixers to a first-place finish in the stacked Eastern Conference despite the Simmons drama has been extraordinary.
If Embiid can win the scoring championship and lead the Sixers to a top-three seed in the Eastern Conference, he should be the favorite to win the award.
