Fifth seed Daria Kasatkina rallied from a 3-0 deficit in the final set to defeat Mirra Andreeva 6-0, 4-6, 6-4 and claim the Ninbo Open title at the Yinzhou Tennis Center on Sunday.
The Russian dominated the first set, but Andreeva staged a comeback to level the match before taking a 3-0 lead in the deciding set. However, Kasatkina remained composed, fought back, and ultimately closed out the match with confidence.
This victory marks Kasatkina’s eighth career title and her second of the year, following her earlier triumph in Eastbourne.
Prior to her championship win, Kasatkina, ranked No. 11, defeated Katerina Siniakova (1-6, 6-3, 6-2), Yulia Putintseva (6-4, 1-6, 7-6 (6)), and Paula Badosa (6-4 ret.).
Andreeva, ranked No. 19, secured victories over Varvara Lepchenko (6-2, 6-0), Tamara Korpatsch (6-0, 6-4), Barbora Krejcikova (7-6 (5), 3-2 ret.), and Karolina Muchova (6-2, 1-0 ret.) earlier in the tournament.
