Russian Karen Khachanov advanced to the quarterfinals of the Vienna Open after a hard-fought victory over American Brandon Nakashima, with the final scoreline reading 1-6, 6-3, 6-4 at the Wiener Stadthalle.
Currently ranked 24th, Khachanov is set to face off against Italian Matteo Berrettini in the next round.
Prior to this victory, the Russian also overcame Brazilian qualifier Thiago Seyboth Wild in a convincing 6-2, 6-4 win.
In the previous round of the Vienna tournament, Nakashima, ranked 38th, pulled off a win against the 4th seed Tommy Paul with a scoreline of 6-4, 6-4.
