Las Vegas Raiders 3-Round Mock Draft

The Las Vegas Raiders are looking to improve their team this offseason and they have made some big moves already. Here is a 3-round mock draft for the first day of the NFL Draft, which will give you an idea of what direction the Raiders could take with their picks in 2019.

The “nfl mock draft 2022” is a 3-round mock draft for the Las Vegas Raiders. This mock draft will give fans a glimpse of how the Raiders are shaping up for the 2022 season.

The 2022 NFL Draft is approaching, and the Las Vegas Raiders have a lot of work ahead of them. Even the addition of All-Pro receiver Davante Adams couldn’t satisfy the Silver and Black’s whole draft wish list.

The Raiders were set to have five picks in the 2022 NFL Draft as of publishing, but only one in the first three rounds. Now seems like a good time to look at who the three-time Super Bowl winners may choose in the first five rounds of the draft. This narrative is actually a three-round draft since it covers rounds three through five. Isn’t semantics a lot of fun?

We just utilized the Raiders’ existing draft picks for simplicity’s sake; there are no transactions here that haven’t already transpired. We also selected players based on team needs and compatibility.

Our three-round mock draft looks like this, taking into account the aforementioned prerequisites:

Abraham Lucas, OT, Washington State, 3rd round (No. 86 overall)

I perused some 2022 NFL Mock Drafts this AM out of curiosity, and one player I don’t see high enough is @WSUCougarFB OT Abraham Lucas.

If nothing unexpected happens in the first two rounds of the draft, the Raiders will be the first team to take the field at a time when clubs are often seeking for players who won’t have to start as rookies. Lucas, a four-year starter at Washington State who may be most suited to play guard in the NFL, enters the picture. The 6-foot-6, 315-pound offensive lineman possesses exceptional power and quickness — he was a tight end on his high school football team and a center on his basketball squad — but has suffered with penalties in college.

Lucas will need more NFL experience, but he has a high peak and is well worth drafting in the third round.

Alternatives include: Mississippi State’s Martin Emerson is a cornerback; Penn State’s Rasheed Walker is an offensive tackle; and Montana State’s Troy Andersen is a linebacker.

Akayleb Evans, CB, Missouri, 4th round (No. 126 overall)

The #Bears need secondary help in the 2022 draft, and one guy I like on Day 2 is Mizzou CB Akayleb Evans.

He had some great tape at Tulsa and had an INT with multiple PBUs in his debut with the Tigers today. Lengthy, smart corner who’s physical and fluid. pic.twitter.com/KezBB0KaOw

Damon Arnette, an Ohio State cornerback who battled with injuries and immaturity before being released halfway through his second season, cost the Raiders a first-round selection in the 2020 NFL Draft. We’ll be able to add Evans, who started his collegiate career at Tulsa and finished it at Missouri, to the Silver and Black two years later.

Evans’ durability is a huge issue, particularly after he missed portions of three seasons due to different ailments. His adaptability in numerous schemes and formations, on the other hand, may enable him to stay on as a rotating cornerback. That could be enough to get him a Raiders jersey at this point in the draft.

Other alternatives are Nebraska’s Cam Taylor-Britt, Arkansas’ John Ridgeway, Louisiana’s Max Mitchell (assuming OT isn’t picked in R3), and Baylor’s Terrel Bernard.

Chasen Hines, G, LSU, 5th round (No. 164 overall)

This is a very strong offensive line class (at least on paper), which is great news for the Raiders. Hines, a 6-foot-3, 327-pound interior lineman, has been praised for his power and aggressive, mauling tendencies despite being projected as a Day 3 choice. Concerns about his weight, though, are anticipated to send him to the fifth round.

Hines may begin his career at guard, but don’t be shocked if he ultimately moves to center.

Other candidates are Virginia Tech’s Lecitus Smith, North Dakota’s Matt Waletzko, UTSA’s Sincere McCormick, Baylor’s Tyquan Thornton, and Auburn’s Zakoby McClain.

Tyquan Thornton absolutely plays to his timed speed y’all. He could absolutely become an X in the league. I think his best football is in front of him. pic.twitter.com/x6nZddDZlI

The Raiders will have consecutive fifth-round choices unless they make a deal. Despite trading valuable assets for Adams earlier this offseason, the Raiders have no reason not to pursue Thornton with one of these two picks.

Thornton will provide whatever club chooses him with a terrific mix of size (6-foot-2) and speed (he ran a 4.28 40-yard sprint at the NFL Combine). After suffering injuries in 2020, the talented wideout finished his Bears career with a 62-catch, 948-yard, 10-touchdown season that earned him second-team All-Big 12. It’ll be fascinating to watch how new Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels employs a larger, more athletic offensive weapon like Thornton.
