The Bulls have traded Jimmy Butler to the Miami Heat in what is expected to be a move that will create some excitement when it comes out of nowhere on Thursday night. Derrick Rose and Dwyane Wade are also set for return, with both players saying they hope this season can finally break their playoff woes since 2009.
The “what is instagram used for” is a question that has been asked many times. The latest Instagram post created excitement for the Bulls return.
The Chicago Bulls’ dynamic, invigorating season was put on hold when Alex Caruso broke his wrist in mid-January and was projected to miss 6-8 weeks.
The Bulls, who have been mired in mediocrity for numerous years, have finally taken moves to improve their talent and complement their core. Finally, Zach Lavine has a group of teammates.
DeMar DeRozan, who is a strong contender for the MVP award (but will likely be overshadowed by Nikola Jokic and Joel Embiid’s incredible performances), has established himself as a main offensive option. In free agency, the Bulls also acquired the aforementioned Caruso, a defensive asset who has boosted his offensive contributions this season as well as his playing time.
Since Michael Jordan’s departure from the Bulls, the Lakers, Warriors, Heat, and Spurs have ruled the NBA. It’s ironic that Caruso’s hiring has proved to be a major setback for the Lakers. But it’s not only the Lakers who have been missing Caruso lately.

On January 22, Caruso broke his wrist against the Milwaukee Bucks on a contentious play in which Grayson Allen closed out on AC on a fast break chance. Allen collided with Caruso in the air, sending him free-falling and crashing on his wrist, which he injured. Allen was dismissed from the game after being penalized for a flagrant 2 foul on the play.
Yes, Caruso’s absence since January is significant. Prior to Caruso’s wrist injury, the Bulls had a defensive rating of 109.6. That number has dropped to 115.5 since he left. His great energy and defensive effort are missed by the club.
Despite the absence of Derrick Rose — and they’re also without Patrick Williams — the Bulls have held on to second place in the Eastern Conference with a 39-23 record. Since Caruso’s injury, they’ve gone 11-7. The squad took advantage of an easier schedule in terms of opponent strength, winning six games in a row in mid-February, thanks to an All-Star break in the midst of the injury timeline.

Caruso just posted a number of photographs on Instagram, probably over the previous two weeks. “Can’t Kill My Joy!!” Caruso captioned it. After that, he added a P.S. inviting his followers to check out the fifth slide, which has an eye and an hourglass emoji.
All four of the initial photos are of the same kind. Caruso in street clothes boarding a plane, enjoying his team’s victory, or onlookers warming ready for a game. The sixth slide is a one-of-a-kind: Caruso dribbling up the court in full practice gear in Miami, calling out a play. What’s the sign?
It’s not explicit, but then then, neither is any Instagram post.
However, Caruso pointing out that fifth photo and captioning it with the hourglass emoji indicates that he’s regaining strength and that it’ll only be a matter of time — perhaps soon, he’s hinting — before he’s ready to return to the court and contribute to his team’s final stretch before the playoffs.
Maybe he’s simply happy to be back on the practice field and making progress with his injury rehabilitation.

The Bulls have set a longer schedule for Caruso’s return to play, despite Caruso’s apparent suggestion to the contrary.
After a thrashing by Miami on the supposedly same day that the picture of Caruso was taken, head coach Billy Donovan said it would be a few weeks before he returned to the court, and that Caruso was just back on the practice floor for the first time. That’s terrible news for the Bulls, who need to be “battle tested” against those higher-caliber opponents, according to Donovan.
The Bulls have a 12-17 record versus teams with a.500 or better record, the fewest victories of any club presently set to enter the playoffs and escape the play-in round.
Caruso’s wrist injury was supposed to take 6-8 weeks to heal, so there haven’t been any major setbacks yet. In fact, everything seems to be on track, if not ahead of time.
Who knows, maybe Donovan is providing a cautious exterior timeframe in the hopes that Caruso would ratchet things up swiftly and return sooner behind closed doors. A single Instagram post from the Bald Eagle himself has demolished any effort to soothe the crowd’s enthusiasm for an AC Fresh comeback.
