“I have always been a fan of this format, as it reflects my personality and interests. Winning a competition and seeing your name on the trophy is a special feeling. I always had the dream of lifting that trophy, and finally achieving it in New York was truly amazing. New York holds a special place in my heart and winning my first (UTS) there meant a lot to me.”
Monfils mentioned that he was focused on the competition while also keeping an eye on areas of improvement ahead of the upcoming US Open, starting on Monday.
“With the Grand Slam approaching, my focus has shifted. I worked on enhancing my game and paying attention to details that needed improvement in just three days. The new format and music helped maintain a positive mindset while staying completely focused on my performance.”
