Lando Norris claimed consecutive pole positions for the first time in his Formula 1 career at Monza on Saturday. The 24-year-old’s impressive lap put him in first place, ahead of his teammate Oscar Piastri and fellow British driver George Russell. In contrast, reigning champion Max Verstappen had a tough qualifying session and will start from seventh place, giving Norris a chance to close the gap in the championship standings. However, Norris remains realistic about his chances, acknowledging that Verstappen may still catch him during the race.
