Podoroska, currently ranked 88th, secured wins over Xiaodi You from China (6-2, 6-2), Xinyu Gao from China (6-1, 2-0 ret.), Mariam Bolkvadze from Georgia (6-4, 6-3), and Anastasiya Sobolieva from Ukraine (6-1, 1-6, 6-1) en route to her title.
In the earlier rounds of the tournament, Maria, ranked 71st, defeated Colombian wildcard Maria Herazo Gonzalez (6-0, 6-1), American Elizabeth Mandlik (6-4, 4-6, 6-3), Suzan Lamens from the Netherlands, seeded No 6 (7-5, 7-5), and received a walkover from Croat Antonia Ruzic.
