Rublev’s sensational comeback against Rinderknech at the US Open

Russian Andrey Rublev, the No 6 seed, staged an impressive comeback against Frenchman Arthur Rinderknech at the US Open in New York. Rublev lost the first two sets but managed to turn the match around to win 4-6, 5-7, 6-1, 6-2, 6-2. Despite starting with 24 unforced errors, Rublev improved his game and only made 10 errors in the next three sets. He hit 38 winners in the final sets, securing the victory with just five games dropped. This win marked only the second time in his career that Rublev came back from two sets down.

In the third round, Rublev will face Jiri Lehecka, who also made a comeback from a two-set deficit in his previous match. In the second round, Rublev defeated Thiago Seyboth Wild. Rinderknech, ranked No 56, had previously defeated Christopher Eubanks in the tournament.

Additionally, several other matches took place in the second round of the US Open, with various players competing against each other.
