Stella elaborates on McLaren’s decision not to pit Norris for fastest lap opportunity.

Andrea Stella, the McLaren boss, has provided an explanation for why McLaren chose not to pit Norris towards the end of the Grand Prix in order to give him the opportunity to improve his fastest lap time. Norris managed to hold onto the bonus point for fastest lap until late in the race, when it was taken from him by Daniel Ricciardo. While Ricciardo did not receive a bonus point in the World Championship standings since he finished outside the top ten, he did manage to snatch the point away from Norris.
