The No 17 seed, Russian player Roman Safiullin, advanced to the last 16 of the Winston-Salem Open after defeating Frenchman Corentin Moutet 6-1, 7-5 at the Wake Forest Tennis Complex on Wednesday night.
Safiullin, currently ranked No 59, is set to face American wildcard Christopher Eubanks in the next round.
In the previous round, Moutet, ranked No 68, defeated Colombian lucky loser Nicolas Mejia (7-6 (5), 6-1) in the Winston-Salem tournament.
