The Chicago Bulls Just Suffered a Double Death Blow to Their Disappointing Season

The Chicago Bulls recently suffered a double death blow to their disappointing season. First, star swingman Jimmy Butler was traded away from the team and second, point guard Rajon Rondo is likely out for the remainder of the year with an injury. These losses have essentially put a nail in the coffin on what had been another rough season for one of America’s most storied franchises.

The “bucks vs bulls 2021 2022” is a matchup that the Chicago Bulls just suffered a double death blow to their disappointing season. The Bucks defeated the Bulls, 108-101, in Milwaukee on Tuesday night.

The Chicago Bulls’ 2021-22 season wasn’t intended to finish like way.

The Bulls had their eyes set on a lengthy run in the Eastern Conference playoffs after bringing in DeMar DeRozan, Lonzo Ball, and Alex Caruso last summer. The strategy was working after a 26-10 start placed them in first place in the East standings, but a 7-15 regular-season end reduced them to the No. 6 seed heading into the playoffs.

Chicago is now only one defeat away from a first-round departure, and losses to Caruso and Zach LaVine will very certainly be the last nail in the coffin.

Both Alex Caruso and Zach LaVine have been declared ineligible for Game 5.

Throughout the season, the Bulls have coped with a slew of injuries. During the regular season, Caruso, Ball, and Patrick Williams combined to miss 153 games, and just three players on the roster participated in more than 70 games. The new-look Bulls struggled to develop chemistry during the year due to lineup fluctuation every week.

Unfortunately for Chicago, the squad has been plagued by injuries all the way to the playoffs. Ball had already been declared out with a torn meniscus months ago, but the Bulls will now be without two additional starters for Game 5 against the Bucks, which is a must-win game.

Caruso, who was smacked in the face by an unintended elbow in Game 4, is still in concussion protocol and has been declared out by the club as of Wednesday morning. With a bleeding nose, he departed Game 4 early and never returned.

In an unfortunate turn of events, LaVine entered the NBA’s COVID-19 health and safety procedures Tuesday morning after suffering symptoms. In addition, he has been ruled out of Game 5 on Wednesday.

If it weren’t for LaVine and Caruso, Chicago’s season would have been finished long ago. Both players were key in the Bulls’ Game 2 victory against the Bucks on the road. LaVine scored 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting and 3-of-4 shooting from three, while Caruso was a defensive nightmare all night. While troubling Giannis Antetokounmpo all night, the former Los Angeles Laker concluded the game with two thefts and two blocks. In addition, he had a game-high 10 assists.

The Bulls needed both LaVine and Caruso to avoid a humiliating sweep, and without both in Game 5, they have little chance of keeping the series alive. The Bucks are presently 12.5-point home favorites against the undermanned Bulls with only a few hours till tipoff at 7:30 p.m. ET.

Chicago did not expect a first-round exit when it assembled its new team for the 2021-22 season. That is, sadly, where things are heading due to some terrible luck at the worst possible moment.
