The Miami Dolphins confirmed their biggest fear by snubbing Tua Tagovailoa from a crucial offseason honor.

The tua tagovailoa future is a phrase that has been repeated many times. It refers to the former Alabama quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who was supposed to be recognized by the Miami Dolphins for his performance in last year’s national championship game.

Tua Tagovailoa is gearing up for a big year in 2021.

It’s not just his first full season as the Miami Dolphins’ starting quarterback, but it’s also possibly his only opportunity to show he’s the right guy for the job. The Dolphins have been connected to Deshaun Watson throughout the summer, indicating that they are considering a quarterback change.

While Tagovailoa still has 17 games to show he is deserving of the title of “the man” in Miami, things are off to a rocky start.

Tua Tagovailoa’s teammates did not elect him captain of the Miami Dolphins.

With the start of the season approaching, NFL clubs are starting to name their captains. Some teams like to keep their captain list to three people, while others prefer to have five or more.

On Wednesday (September 8), the Dolphins revealed their captains, and Tagovailoa was unable to be seen.

Even if it’s their first year as a captain, it’s common for a team’s starting quarterback to be named one. Carson Wentz, for example, was chosen one of the captains of the Indianapolis Colts. He’s in his first year in Indianapolis, and a foot ailment has kept him out of much of training camp.

Jalen Hurts has also been appointed a captain for the Philadelphia Eagles. It’s his first full season as a starter in Philadelphia, and he only appeared in a few games as a rookie – a position he shares with Tagovailoa.

Without a doubt, Tagovailoa’s failure to win captaincy is both unusual and concerning.

The Miami Dolphins must be worried.

Tua Tagovailoa is not a Dolphins captain, but Mack Hollins is. Wild.

In theory, Tagovailoa’s performance in 2021 should be unaffected by whether or not he is captain. It is his responsibility to go out there and execute passes, whether or not he wears a “C” on his shirt. However, it is a symptom of a much bigger problem that is presently affecting Miami.

What does it say about Tagovailoa’s future with the Dolphins if his teammates aren’t confidence enough in him to designate him captain over *checks note* Jesse Davis or Mack Hollins?

Tagovailoa has been surrounded by teammates during the offseason and training camp. They expressing some skepticism about his ability to lead and direct the Dolphins’ offense in 2021 should be enough to worry the team’s upper management.

They were already interested in dealing for Watson, remember?

What does the future hold for Tua Tagovailoa?

Tagovailoa’s ego is likely to take a hit as a result of this. He’s a former collegiate star and a top-ten draft choice who’s always been referred to as “the man” everywhere he goes.

His first season was already difficult enough. Former Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and Tagovailoa were always battling for control of the offense. It’s not unreasonable to believe that Fitzpatrick is still favored by a part of the Dolphins’ roster.

Finally, the pressure on Tagovailoa has increased by a factor of two as a result of his leadership snub. He must not only impress the front office to avoid being moved, but he must also re-establish himself in the locker room. It’s a bad situation for a second-year quarterback to be in. Unfortunately, Tagovailoa and the Dolphins find themselves in this position.

The year 2021 has now become even more important for the second-year quarterback.
