Top moments we saw at this year’s Masters Tournament

All golf fans will know the four major tournaments on the PGA Tour. Along with the PGA Championship, The US Open and The Open Championship, The Masters is a revered member of this elite club. It is an event which brings together the world’s best players and always delivers memorable moments. It is also a tournament which many golf fans like to bet on in order to make it even more exciting to watch.

Although this event has already taken place for 2022, finding out how to bet on the Masters for next year is always wise for golf bettors. Finding out this kind of information now can also help when wagering on upcoming events such as the PGA Championship, The US Open or The Open Championship later in the year.

When it comes to this year’s Masters at Augusta National, where every hole is named after a flower or tree, there were some truly magical moments to savor. But which live longest in the memory?

Scottie Scheffler takes home the main prize

There is no doubt that top pro Scottie Scheffler is enjoying a fine tour this year and his first ever Masters win only added to this. Holding off a late charge from Rory McIlroy, Scheffler received the famous green jacket from last year’s champion Hideki Matsuyama. This was a well-deserved win as Scheffler put in a superb performance across the whole competition, especially in his final round on Sunday.

One moment which many fans will remember for a long time is his birdie chip at the third. This was even more impressive because he had actually made a mess of his first two shots on this par four hole. With his approach shot leaving him short of the green, his perfectly weighted chip ensured he stayed out in front.

Return of Tiger Woods

One of the top moments from 2022’s Masters has to be the return of Tiger Woods to Augusta. After all, this is a course he is closely linked to after his iconic chip shot on the 16th hole in 2005. His appearance at 2022’s event though was all the more special because he had been out of competitive action for 14 months. Not only the crowd, but Woods himself found this to be a highly emotional experience.

At one point, it looked like a fairytale win might be in the cards for Woods. Going into the final round on Sunday, he was seven under par overall and would surely have been thinking about what might happen next. Sadly, a run of three bogeys on the fourth, fifth and sixth holes took him out of contention, but it was still a Masters he will never forget.

Min Woo Lee excels on debut

While the strong performance of experienced pros such as Woods, Scottie Scheffler and Rory McIlroy is not a shock, the showing Min Woo Lee put in was. This was Lee’s Masters debut and he could have been forgiven for being a little nervous or overawed. This was not the case at all though!

He put in an outstanding performance on his debut and finished tied for 14th overall at two over. This is impressive enough on its own but gets better when you consider he was in the running for a surprise win at one point. Shooting a 30 on the front nine on the final round, he was at one stage at six under and in sixth place. Although he eventually dropped off the pace a little, his appearance was a talking point for many fans.

Stewart Cink’s hole in one

Although Stewart Cink missed the cut, he did manage to leave us with one of the standout moments from 2022’s Masters. This happened in his second round and on hole 16. After taking out his trusty eight iron, Cink blasted a hole in one to get the crowd cheering. This was a magical moment for the player, who had his son Reagan as his caddie to celebrate with.

Masters 2022 had many fine moments

When you think of all the above awesome moments, it is clear what a fabulous exhibition of golf the 2022 Masters was. Each of the majors has its own flavor and the Masters always seems to create plenty of iconic moments for us to remember. With the other major championships still to enjoy in 2022, fans can only hope they are as exciting as the action we saw recently at Augusta National.
