Tom Brady Lied to Himself and NFL Fans During His Recent Conversation With Late Night TV Host James Corden

Being at the absolute pinnacle of the sport of football, Tom Brady and the New England Patriots will be playing in Super Bowl 51 this weekend against the Atlanta Falcons. The Patriots are up against the Falcons in a game many people have pinned their hopes on, in hopes that the Patriots can win their fourth Super Bowl title in five years. However, if you watched the recent interview the Patriots QB did with late night TV host James Corden, you may have a different opinion.

Professional athlete and beloved TV host James Corden gave Tom Brady a six-minute head start before the two met up to chat about the Boston Red Sox and the upcoming NFL season. The two led each other through a series of tests, including memorizing Brady’s Super Bowl LI jersey number, Brady’s wife Gisele Bundchen’s name and Ben Affleck’s first and last name, and Brady’s age in seconds and months. After a few minutes of answering questions, Brady’s team allowed him to leave before Corden could ask any questions.

Late Night TV host Jimmy “J.K. Simmons” James had the perfect unsuspecting subject to ask Tom Brady about his deflated footballs in a recent interview on his show “James Corden’s” Late Night talk show.

Don’t believe everything Tom Brady says.

After all, his job requires him to play the public relations game. And in his recent interview with James Corden of The Late Late Show, Brady did his best to convince NFL fans (and himself) of some inaccurate facts that are not true.

No matter what he wants people to believe, the aging quarterback seems more motivated than ever heading into his 22nd season. But if Brady achieves his goal of winning back-to-back titles with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, will he finally say goodbye to the game that made him one of the most recognizable and respected athletes of all time?

Tom Brady has silenced critics and doubters throughout his NFL career

Over the course of his two-decade career with the New England Patriots, Brady has often talked about his brutal experience in the NFL draft. When he was chosen in the sixth round, while six other quarterbacks were not selected, the former Michigan Wolverine was motivated enough to prove everyone wrong, and Brady has been able to use any offense or bitterness to his career advantage. Even when he had already built a reputation as one of the NFL’s biggest stars, he still wore a chip on his shoulder – something you’d expect from an inexperienced rookie, not a future Hall of Fame member.

Even when faced with legitimate questions about his future after a disappointing 2013 season, Brady refused to go quietly. He was not deterred by the arrival of Jimmy Garoppolo. Instead, he used the choice of his potential successor as motivation to prove Bill Belichick wrong. Given that he has won three Super Bowls and the Patriots were forced to fire Garoppolo, Brady seemed to do his best to show that he deserves to remain a key part of New England’s long-term plans.

But he didn’t get a new contract from Belichick.

Fortunately for Brady, the Buccaneers gave him a chance to prove his former head coach wrong. After years of criticism and critique from Belichick, he looked renewed, rejuvenated and happy to play under Bruce Arians. And with the move to Tampa, Brady put himself in position to win a Super Bowl in his first season without Belichick as head coach. He accomplished that mission, and you have to imagine that the excitement of accomplishing that goal was especially satisfying given that Belichick was on his first losing season since Brady joined the Patriots in 2000.

The legendary quarterback lied to himself and NFL fans in an interview with James Corden

The subject of evidence came up during Brady’s conversation with late-night presenter James Corden. But his explanation for why he’s still playing the game doesn’t ring true, given Brady’s performance in recent years.

It’s hard to give up something you still think you can and want to do, Brady told Corden. So it’s not about proving to others what you can do, but rather proving it to yourself. And I feel like even though I’m turning 44 this year, I still have a chance to prove to myself that I can still do it at 44, because I’ve really worked to make sure that I can still do it at this age.

On Tuesday night, New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden. During the interview, Brady and Corden discussed Brady’s career, which has been filled with controversy and what it’s like to play quarterback in the NFL..
