As the race was approaching its final laps, Sergio Perez and Carlos Sainz were locked in an intense battle for third place at the Azerbaijan GP. Unfortunately, their rivalry ended in both drivers hitting the barrier. Despite finishing in fifth place, the Dutchman was perplexed by the stewards’ decision to only deploy the Virtual Safety Car.
