Australian qualifier Aleksandar Vukic advanced to the third round of the Shanghai Masters after defeating the No 8 seed, Norwegian Casper Ruud, with a score of 6-4, 6-4 at the Qi Zhong Tennis Center on Friday.
Ranked No 91, Vukic will now face No 30 seed Tomas Machac in the next round.
In the previous round of the Shanghai tournament, Vukic narrowly defeated Frenchman Corentin Moutet with a score of 2-6, 6-3, 6-4.
