Sports Relief is a biennial charity event in the United Kingdom, founded by Sue Barker, Trevor Brooking, Dagmara Krause and Richard Paramor in 2002. The main purpose of Sports Relief is to raise money for vulnerable people in both the UK and some of the world’s poorest countries by getting the public active and donating money. The event takes place over a three-week period, culminating with a multi-sport event and entertainment show on one day – typically the second or third Saturday in March.

The event is a collaboration between the BBC and Comic Relief, and was founded in 2002
