The top seed, Russian Mirra Andreeva, advanced to the semi-finals of the Iasi Open by defeating Croatian lucky loser Lea Boskovic 6-2, 6-0 at the Ciric Sports Base on Wednesday night.
Ranked No. 32, Andreeva will face the winner of the match between Serb Olga Danilovic and Hungarian Anna Bondar, the No. 8 seed, in the next round.
Before her latest victory, the 17-year-old Russian defeated German Noma Noha Akugue (6-1, 6-2) and Belarusian Aliaksandra Sasnovich (6-1, 6-3).
Boskovic, ranked No. 202, previously beat Russian Maria Timofeeva (7-5, 6-1) and American qualifier Varvara Lepchenko (6-3, 6-4) earlier in the tournament.
