On Friday night at the Utsubo Tennis Center, Dutch qualifier Suzan Lamens claimed victory over Romanian qualifier Ana Bogdan with a score of 4-6, 6-3, 6-3 to secure her spot in the semi-finals of the Osaka Open.
Lamens, currently ranked 125th, will face off against the winner of the match between French player Diane Parry, the 7th seed, and Danish player Clara Tauson in the next round.
Leading up to her latest win, Lamens defeated Bulgarian Viktoriya Tomova, the 6th seed, with a score of 6-1, 6-2, as well as Italian player Lucia Bronzetti with a score of 6-3, 6-4.
In earlier rounds of the Osaka tournament, Bogdan, ranked 111th, secured victories against Russian player Veronika Kudermetova with a score of 6-2, 6-2, and 4th seed Marie Bouzkova with a score of 6-0, 7-6 (5).
