Ranked at No. 151, Sharma is set to face second seed Karolina Muchova in the upcoming match.
In the previous round of the tournament, Astra Sharma also triumphed over Russian Anna Blinkova, the No. 6 seed, with a score of 6-0, 7-5.
Ajla Tomljanovic, ranked No. 133, secured a victory in the previous round against Egyptian Mayar Sherif with a score of 3-6, 7-5, 6-3.
