Italian Matteo Arnaldi secured a spot in the semi-finals of the Montreal Masters by defeating Japanese Kei Nishikori 6-4, 7-5 at Stade IGA on Sunday night. Arnaldi, who is ranked No 46, will now face Russian Andrey Rublev, the No 5 seed. Prior to this, Arnaldi won against American Mackenzie McDonald, Russian Karen Khachanov, and Spaniard Alejandro Davidovich Fokina in earlier rounds. Kei Nishikori, on the other hand, beat American Alex Michelsen, Greek Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Portuguese Nuno Borges before facing Arnaldi. Other last eight results in the Montreal Masters include Sebastian Korda vs. Alexander Zverev, Alexei Popyrin vs. Hubert Hurkacz, and Andrey Rublev beating Jannik Sinner.
