American player Frances Tiafoe, seeded No 3, emerged victorious against Russian player Aslan Karatsev with a score of 6-4, 3-6, 6-3 to advance to the quarterfinals of the Atlanta Open held at the Atlanta Athletic Club on Thursday evening.
Ranked No 29, Tiafoe is set to face Japanese player Yoshihito Nishioka in the next round.
During the previous round of the Atlanta Open, Karatsev, ranked No 107, defeated qualifier Billy Harris with a score of 6-2, 6-2.
